This summer marked the 100 years for the Ellgen Ranch. To celebrate, we had a huge reunion with Grandpa Ellgen, Great-Uncle Philip, and Great-Aunt Blanche with all of their children & grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Here are some of our highlights...
Grandpa Pearce Loved his ride on the motorcycle.
Noah loved Climbing fences,
hanging out in cold storage with cousins,
riding horses,
four wheeling,
joining in the family kick ball game,
swimming in the Yampa river, swimming in the pool, eating good food, balloon rockets, hanging out with the boys, and just being at the ranch.
Rilla loved...
playing peek-a-boo with Uncle David & a wet hankie.
getting a lil' shut-eye,
being with grandpa,
begging Great-grandma Ellgen to share her Popsicle...
And swimming in the Craig Wave Pool with GREAT Uncle David.
Tessa loved exploring the ranch,
riding horses,
And, swimming in the pool,
becoming better acquainted with her second cousin while catching bugs together,
She also loved being with Finley. The two of them ran wild together...they were off doing something or other and that is why there aren't many pictures. She loved to roam!
Emma loved chasing the sheep,
seeing the pigs,
riding the horses,
four wheeling, swimming in the river, listening to Grandma Ellgen & Grandma Pace stories, eating good food and she especially loved that I played kick-ball too.
Elizabeth loved guiding and riding the horses,
swimming in the river,
riding on John Deere,
She also loved that she was allowed to drive all the fun machines herself. She loved that there were other adults who played and tended to Rilla & Nathan. She was grateful to have gone!
Nathan loved being with Big Nathan,
riding the horse,
hanging out with cousins,
sneaking in and out of the tractor,
pretending to drive the tractor,
playing kick-ball,
walking with Andrew,
pretending that the port-a-pottie was his clubhouse,
Usually, one doesn't want to be in one for one second longer than necessary, and yet, I kept having to chase him out....
And Clinging to me,
Nathan also loved having acres of land to run on when he was able to admit that he didn't need me every second...
I loved hearing stories about Grandma Ellgen and Great-Grandma Pace. I also loved hearing Grandpa Ellgen tell stories about his childhood. I loved that Rilla loved Grandpa Pearce, Great Uncle David, and Great Grandma Ellgen! Thanks to all for making it a lovely experience and helping me with my crew!
